Story
Deus EX takes place in a bleak future, during the year 2032. The former great powers have been ruined by a worldwide economic crisis, and the population is being decimated by a new and deadly disease nicknamed "Grey Death". New groups and alliances form. The governments lose their influence. Militias start to fight them openly. After a terrorist strike destroys the Statue of Liberty in New York, the UN creates a special division called UNATCO to track and fight them. You are one of them. Your codename is JC Denton. You are the second "prototype" of a new generation of agents, genetically altered and enhanced by nanomachines. During the game, you will have access to several types of canisters, filled with nanites that will give you special abilities, such as stronger muscles, infrared vision, integrated HUD, etc. After Paul, your older brother, guides you through your first mission, you will have to find out why the NSF militia tries to steal the only vaccine capable of curing "Grey Death", and discover that the enemy is not always the one you think. From New York to Paris, from Hong Kong to the bottom of the ocean, discover an incredibly rich universe filled with dangers and riddles, where you can fully interact with other characters and decide what to do next. Your mission is simple: save the world. How you complete it is up to you. |
